Campus

Campus

The HfS Ernst Busch campus is a lively hub of theatre-making, located right in the heart of Berlin. In 2018, the University’s various courses of study were brought together under one roof, in Zinnowitzer Straße. This means that the HfS can “perform” at three venues: the Berlin-Mitte central campus, the bat-Studiotheater, and Uferstudios.

The central location in Zinnowitzer Straße has two main stages (“UNTEN” and “OBEN”) as well as numerous rehearsal stages and workshops across three floors. This is also where most of the teaching takes place and where you can find our teacher’s offices, administration offices and technical equipment department. In addition, we have a large props department and many storage rooms for props, clothes and other equipment. The building is wheelchair accessible. The historic bat-Studiotheater located at Prenzlauer Berg serves as a performance venue and laboratory and is wheelchair accessible as well. The Uferstudios for contemporary dance – home to the HZT Berlin – are located in a heritage-listed former industrial site in Wedding. One of the University's current priorities is to further develop the campus with regard to sustainability and inclusion. We warmly invite anyone looking to visit our campus and take a peek behind the scenes to attend our annual “Open Day”.
